LDP 2ND Council Meeting Report-09 DEC 2006

LEO DISTRICT 412
LEO DISTRICT PRESIDENTS REPORT
REPORT TO THE 2ND COUNCIL MEETING HELD IN KWEKWE ON THE 9th OF DECEMBER 2006

Greetings to you all.!

As we approach halfway through our Leoistic calendar its time we take stock of what we have been doing for the past couple of months. If it is in soccer we would have called it Half time. As clubs we need to critically analyse how we have been operating. Have we been serving the community in our areas fully? Have we been working together as a team? Have our club projects reflected our abilities fully? Have you been communicating with other clubs, your region chair or any other board member? Each club can best answer these questions as to how you have been operating. It is very important that we be true to ourselves and answers them truthfully.
As individual Leos what has been our contribution to our club? Have we been part of the team? Have we stopped attending meetings or we come once in a while when it suits us? In order to move forward we need to look behind critically and learn from the way we were operating and if they are grey areas we need to pull our selves up and remember our obligations as Leos. We all joined to serve and please lest continue to serve and serve to the best of our abilities. Should we have any problems, lets use the Leo District Board for help. They are there to help, and they is no way they can help without being invited!

During this quarter I managed to attend the Induction of Tete Lions Clubs in Mozambique in August. Hopefully we will be also chartering a new Leo club soon. I also managed to attend the Malawi Lions national conference in November. I learned a lot from these trips and I got better insight on how we can serve better as Leos. I visited Harare West Leo Club in September, as part of the president's visits. I visited Bulawayo Leos in the hope of reviving the club as it has been having problems for sometime now. I had planned a lot more club visits but for one reason or the other most we cancelled at the last minute .1 will thus in the month of February try to visit most clubs in the district. Please liase with you region chair as we have already provisional dates .If the dates don't suite you please let us know in good time so as to avoid last minute cancellations.
In February from the 8th to the 10th , our District will be hosting an All Africa conference in Bulawayo at The Holiday Inn. This is a gathering of Lions from Africa. I kindly urge all clubs to make an effort to attend and learn

Finally , remember to take care of the minutes in life for the hours will take care of themselves !
