Greetings to you all, i hope you are having an exciting Leoistic year .Things have been very slow on my side, particularly my presence being felt as the District Vice President, so I would not have much word to say.
My duties as Vice President were mainly to help the current President carry out his duties well and efficiently. This means filling in for him where he cant make it, and any other related matters. Another duty would have been to monitor membership within the District, as Membership Director. Well, membership for the part of Region 5, Botswana, my home country, is a bit on the low side. Clubs have been dying due to lack of continuity of membership, particularly for school based clubs. As it is the all but 4 clubs are slowly drifting away, the 4 clubs being Maun, Mahalapye, Selebi Phikwe and Gaborone West. There is hope to revive
the other clubs with the new students being recruited from second semester. And i have faith that all will go well with the Region in the next Year, There are two new kids on the block. Molepolole and Lobatse, with good intentions, to keep them around for a long time and provide fellow citizens with the much needed service.
It is my wish to see membership, particularly that of Region 5 becoming more than what it is right now, and have its presence highly fell within the District as a whole.
On that note, i hope you all have a good time in Botswana, and a beautiful new Leoistic Year as we continue to serve fellow brothers and sisters.
