ACTIVITIES
Blood Donation Campaign: The campaign was carried out on the 10th-12lh October2007 at the UB main campus. T-Shirts were given out to donors as incentives and 277people donated. The campaign was planned to continue on the 14th-15th at the FETcampus but could not because of the nationwide shortage in blood bags. It will again resume for 2 days as soon as the bags are available.
Social: To boost the morale of Leos we had a braai at a fellow Leo's place after ourmeeting on the 7th October 2007.
T-shirt sale: Club t-shirts were sold to members.P480 has been raised was raised fromtheir sale.
Induction: Two prospective Leos were inducted on the 30th October 2007.
Dinner Dance: the dinner dance was meant to be the biggest fund raiser of the year but it didn't turn out as good as we expected because Leos didn't do their part in selling the tickets so in the end it turned out into more like a social and we did enjoy ourselves. Out of an estimated profit of P4000 we ended up making just P271.60.
CHALLENGES:
The club is facing a really hard lime and experiencing a slow and painful death. This is evident from the fact that out of a planned 6 projects this semester only 2 were done (blood donation and dinner dance). The main reasons for the failures and inactiveness are:
Leos are not as passionate and enthusiastic as they used to be despite efforts made bymyself and the board.
We tend to plan elaborate projects that need a lot of planning and end up not beingable to implement them.
The biggest problem is with the "club veterans". These people tend to make so manypromises that they can't keep and most prospective Leos feel that they aredemotivated by them because some of them were involved in projects with them.Most projects that failed were headed by these people because they either don't showfor meetings to give progress reports or simply just don't communicate with peoplethey are assigned to work with.
We have resolved during the last evaluation meeting that:
We will go back to doing the very simple and basic projects so that we could keep themembers interested and active.
The veterans will not be included in planning projects but will however helpimplement them.

2.0 CLUB MEETINGS
Meetings were held every Fridays at 1400 hours at school.
3.0 FUND RAISING PROJECTS
3.1 Maputi Sales
Sold Maputi at school and managed to raise $10 000
3.2 Refreshment Sales
Sold soft drinks at school and managed to raise $7 500
3.3 Snacks Sales
Sold snacks and popcorn at school and managed to raise $4 000
3.4 Sale of biscuits and sweets
Sold biscuits and sweets at school and managed to raise $3 250
3.5 Fundraising dance : 27th October 2006
We held a dance show to adjust our financial status and finance a feeding scheme for three less privileged scholars. Raised $10 444.
3.6 Fundraising dance : 17th November 2006
We held a dance show for farewell to outgoing Leos who are doing their last year'O' Level, financing our end of year social gathering. Raised $12 400.
3.7 Fundraising Agriculture project
We made four (4) trips to Demadema farm and carried out a variety of agricultural tasks earning us $ 1 5 000 per trip. Thus all in all we raised $60 000.
4.0 SERVICE ACTIVITIES
4.1 Cleaning project
We cleaned the administration block for the school.
4.2 Ushering
We provided the ushering staff at prize giving day.
5.0 DONATIONS
5.1 Prize donations
We donated an art kit for Tapiwa on Prize giving day.
5.2 Cash donation
We donated $2 350 to the school to cater for some expenses at Prize Giving Day
5.3 Mealie Meal donation
We donated a bucketful meal to an ill orphaned scholar.
5.4 Paid school fees for 1st and 2nd Term for a schoolar amounting to $5 100
6.0 JOINT ACTIVITIES
6.1 School Magazine
We jointly initiated the editing of a school magazine with the staff in charge at school and it is due to come out the first week of opening next year.
6.2 Agricultural Project
We also jointly made trips to Demadema farm with Scripture Union Members.

4.1. BELL MEDICAL CENTRE VISIT - SUNDAY 17 SEPTEMBER
We had a social visit to the local hospital. We prayed for the patients and managed to cheer them up. We also donated some orange juice for the patients.

5.0. FUND-RAISING ACTIVITIES
5.1. CAR WASH - SATURDAY 30 SEPTEMBER
We had a Car Wash in Kwekwe with the help of Batanai and Rutendo Alphas. We raised $5,000.
5.2. DISCO - SATURDAY 4 NOVEMBER
This was held at the Zisco Club. The function did not go well as the turnout was low. We managed to break-even.
5.3. DINNER DANCE - SATURDAY 11 NOVEMBER
The event took place at Redcliff Alan Lowry Golf Club and was graced by the presence of our Executive Mayor Chisi and Mrs Chisi. We raised $103,000. 50%.of the proceeds were used for the Council Meeting expenses and the rest will be donated to Rutendo Home for the Aged.
5.4. DISCO - SATURDAY 2 DECEMBER
We had another Disco at the Zisco Club. We raised $8,000. 6.0.

6.1. SHUNGU HIGH INDUCTION - 7 OCTOBER
Leos Zivanai, Eric and Stanley attended the ceremony held at Shungu High School. Redcliff L;ons President Peter Mawoyo and Vice President Peter Dzviti conducted the ceremony.
6.2. GOLDRIDGE LEOS INDUCTION - FRIDAY 27 OCTOBER
The Induction Ceremony took place at Goldridge College. The sponsoring Redcliff Lions attended and Lion Peter Dzviti inducted the new members and the club president. Our Leo President Tinta performed the Officers' Installation Ceremony.
6.3. HARARE WEST LEO CLUB
Our Secretary, Leo Bernard actively participates in their projects and attends club meetings. He also attends Lions meetings.

Region 2 Report, 2nd Council meeting
REGION 2 LEO DISTRICT 412 SECOND COUNCIL MEETING REPORT

MEMBERSHIP
The Region 2 currently has a club membership of 10 namely Harare West, Peterhouse, Kutama, Hillcrest, Dangamvura, Nyamauru, St Faith’s, St Mary’s, Nyanga and prospective clubs Harare the Phoenix, Mabelreign, Prince Edward School and Herman Germeiner.
DISTRICT DUES

Correspondence in the region has greatly improved and this is one of the major great changes clubs as clubs have been making an effort to communicate about their activities.

The region has twinned with clubs in Region 3 and 5 while at club level their has been a marked improvement with club twinning and visits.

Visited the Peterhouse on their induction luncheon as well as prospective Leo Club of Prince Edward to set up the club. Unfortunately failed to visit the rest of the

I attended the District Board Meeting in Gweru in September as well District Governor Lion Ray Sibanda visit to Harare Lions Clubs for the Zone meeting.
OUTLOOK
The region’s vision is to establish more clubs and we anticipate a marked improvement in the number of clubs while the existing clubs are expected to continue going forward and strive to remain vibrant in the remainder of year
